The statement should communicate the essence of the company or business towards its stakeholders and the general public. The key parts of a good mission statement include the purpose statement, the business statement, and the company's values. This paper seeks to evaluate two different mission statements, by critically analyzing whether they meet the above threshold so as to be considered as good, strong and sensible mission statements.Home Depot's Mission StatementThe Home Depot is in the home improvement business, and our goal is to provide the highest level of service, the broadest selection of products, and the most competitive prices. We are a values-driven company and our eight core values include the following: Excellent customer service, taking care of our people, giving back, doing the "right" thing, creating shareholder value, respect for all people, entrepreneurial spirit and building strong relationshipsEvaluationHome Depot's mission statement focusses on satisfying the immediate customer needs by revising the market prices, broadening the available product and also giving the highest possible level of service.
